Hi, I'm Reynie and my blog is about my life experiences as a Southern woman. I'm married to "BB" and we have a newborn daughter, Kimberly Grace. We live in a log home in Turin, GA which I love to decorate. Besides decorating, I love working in my yard and take great pride in my veggie garden. I also enjoy cooking, baking, and scrapbooking. I'm a Project Manager with a major airline and work part time out of the house and part time in the office which is a great mix for me. I'm blessed and thank God for it daily! 100 Things About Me
Hello! I'm glad you're thinking about that. It was one of the best experience I have ever had in intire life. I had little one at the Birth Center here in NC. This is their web link in case you'd like to check it out. www.ncbirthcenter.com - you might find some good informartion. You're welcome to email me with question if you'd like. I'll be glad to answer! Best, Vanessa
i had a natural birth for both of my children and found this website helpful www.birthingnaturally.net. i also recommend reading ina may's guide to childbirth. she includes some great birth stories which i found encouraging after making the decision to birth naturally (more reviews on the book here.) another website you might find is www.childbirth.org. hope that helps! let me know if you have any more questions a/b natural childbirth :).
It is an awesome experience for me. Part of the reason was that I had a doula. www.alaboroflove.org I highly recommend them to help you during the journey of childbirth. Good luck Reynie.
Heather at Dooce.com just posted something about her natural child birth. She says Abby Epstein's book Your Best Birth changed her life. Hah Just thought I'd share.

Thanks all for your comments and info! I'm starting my research to make a decision but in all honesty, I probably won't make that till the contractions start. Here's hoping I can handle them!
If you have any doubts about natural childbirth, you need to watch "The Business of Being Born". It will TOTALLY change your mind about being induced, epidurals, etc. Natural childbirth is what was meant to be and is so much better for both the mother and especially baby.
We are expecting #5 which will be our fifth homebirth with a midwife. I would suggest reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth (which is GREAT), and I really enjoyed finding the blog birthowl.com. If you are going the hospital route and would like to do it naturally I would highly recommend hiring a doula~it can make all the difference!!!! (((((HUGS))))) sandi~found your blog from Cherry's, as I'm trying to learn to be so delightfully decorative!
I did it! It's such an incredible experience...probably, no *definitely* one of the most special things I've ever done. Mike and I attended a natural childbirth course to prepare. It is definitely hard and painful, BUT it exciting for me and my husband to really work together. I've had two that way (except I did have to have Pitocin with both...ughh!), but no pain meds/epidural/interventions, etc....and I wouldn't have it any other way! :o) I hope I get to experience it again!! If it is something you would really like to do, you could hire a doula. The rates of interventions, including c-sections, go down DRAMATICALLY when women use them. Some of my friends have had AWESOME experiences with doulas.
My daughter had my granddaughter at a birthing center. Even though she was there and in labor for about 21 hours she would in a heartbeat do it the same way again. If your interested heres a link to her birthing story http://meganbhulsey.wordpress.com/category/i-dont-know-nothin-bout-birthin-no-babies-oh-wait-yes-i-do/
